I'm still hunkering down in my malaise after the election. But it's good to see a twinkle of light in what you've written. I've repeatedly been disappointed by Booker and other prize-winning or short-listed novels. My tastes (or lack thereof) apparently are at odds with those who award prizes. But I'm intrigued by the concept and by your comments, so I'll take a look.
