Love that you were imagining a kind of dumpling of a person:-) The book is NOT a cheerful one. I don't blame you for not wanting to read it! I mainly found it fascinating because of how small and large misunderstandings totally skewed that poor girl's life.

Ha ha! I remember in the Christmas carol lyrics, "Round yon Virgin," thinking that the Virgin was fat because she was round. And asking my mother what "Parse" was because the song says about the snowman that "We'll pretend that he is parse and brown." As far as this book, though, I just didn't get into it and want to read it. Sorry!

That's funny. You're right about the book--depressing but insightful. Thanks for reading.

I love that age! Three, too. The way they see the world.

Makes me think of my grandsons, especially the one who is four and so full of magic and make believe.

I was playing with my son and told him I'd get him back when he least expected it. He replied, "I least expect it!" You are so right about how "Kids say the darndest things" -- definitely memorable. Poor Deer sounds like a depressing but insightful take on this. Thanks for the review!
