That book really did blow my mind! And I think you're right (I hope, anyway) that we're becoming collectively more aware of how subjective our worlds are. The older I get, the more I think that a true understanding of point of view is, well, everything.

I love your preliminaries about what we know or knew or think we know. I'm intrigued with the background info about Robert Pirsig's mental health history. Didn't know that when I read it!

I feel like we're maybe becoming collectively more aware of how subjective our worlds are. I do love the resource I have of having 42 years worth of journals to reach back into (thanks, Barb!), to see how I experienced or reported things at the time they happened, subjective though they may be. I want to hold on to the notion that I can understand and know about things!

I'm a little Holy Family-ed out, as I just finished The Book of Longings by Sue Monk Kidd, a story told by a woman Kidd imagines as Jesus wife. Interesting story about the missing half of the Bible (women's role and experience in it all). It spoke so much to some people in my reading group.
