Got my copy from the library. Almost finished and loving it so much. But also, the murdered author, David Graham Phillips, is from Madison and I had no idea. He grew up in one of the houses just around the corner, which is, of course, still there. Going to check out his biography now, though probably not read one of his novels. I'll trust Edith Wharton's opinion on their quality. Thanks again for writing about this book!
I loved this, too, Barb. Especially your visit to her grave and the care you gave her and the grave. Your finding her humor in the two lonely begonias was wonderful! I want to read both Wharton and this book! Thanks!
I LOVE this story! I needed to read it on this otherwise uneventful Monday morning. And that you found a piece of glass to dig a hole to put the flowers in was perfect.
I love how one thing leads to another!
How weird that DGP might have been your neighbor:-)

It's a close call! But, yeah, I think so.
What a great experience and NYT article. Even better than visiting Jim's grave in Paris?
Thanks!
This is a wonderful piece. And I feel sure that you were the reason for that letter to the editor!
Thanks. It really was a wonderful experience.
Elementary Ed :-)
Wonderful. I adore Wharton.
What was your major if not English?
Thanks. It really was.
I love this story so much, Barb! What a cool experience.

I loved doing that!
It really was a lovely experience. Glad you enjoyed it.

Sounds intriguing. Most of all, though, I enjoy your story about caring for Wharton’s grave. I can just see you there, Barb.
